Adult Sailing Course

The adult sailing course is being offered once on Saturday, June 14 & Sunday, June 15 and again on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29.  The course is limited to four adults per class.  The course is $100.00 for non members and free to Crystal Sailing Club members.  The course fee check needs to be made out to Crystal Sailing Club and sent to:  Freyja Davis, 409 Brockway Place, Albion, MI  49224.    Please indicate which weekend you would like to take the course.   The course will be taught at Crystal Sailing Club on Crystal Lake in Montcalm County.  The CSC web site is http://www.sailcsc.org.  Course participants must be 18 or older.  Some small degree of physical agility is helpful to course participants.

After receiving the course fee I will send participants a basic sailing book which is currently used by US Sailing and the Red Cross.  The book should be read by course participants before the course meets.  You will also be sent directions along with other course information.

Course participants will be spending part of the course using a Flying Scot which is a stable 19 ft center board sloop, and part of the course sailing Sunfish which are small single handed sailboats that are great little teaching boats.

On both Saturday and Sunday the course will begin at 10:00 am break for lunch around noon, reconvene and continue until about 4:00 pm.  You will have an opportunity to practice your sailing skills after 4:00 pm if the weather cooperates.
